About Reach

It started with a long-distance relationship

A few years ago, I was in a long-distance relationship. My girlfriend and I lived in different cities, and the hardest part wasn't the distance itself. It was the waiting. The stretch of days between visits felt shapeless. I wanted something that would make the wait feel more tangible, more shared. Something we could both look at and feel like we were counting down together.

I looked for an app that did this well. I couldn't find one I actually liked. Most were cluttered, ugly, or too complex. So I built Reach.

Built for one person. Then for everyone.

Reach started as a personal project. I wanted something simple: create a countdown, add a beautiful background, share it with one person who matters. That's it.

As I kept building, I realised the same feeling applies to almost any event worth looking forward to: a vacation, a wedding, a baby's arrival, a concert with friends. The app grew to support all of it, but the core idea never changed: make the wait feel meaningful and shared.

What Reach is today

Reach is a free countdown app for iOS and Android. You can create countdowns for any event, add beautiful widgets to your home screen and lock screen, and share countdowns with friends and family so everyone counts down together.

There are no ads, no subscription required for the core features. I built the app I wanted to use, and I'm glad other people find it useful too.
